**When the Supplement Watchdog Gets Bought**

5h ago · 2 sources · M&A

Function Health just bought SuppCo, the independent supplement testing platform known for calling out brands that fail their own label claims. Deal terms were not disclosed. The move folds SuppCo’s consumer app, TrustScore rating system and Tested by SuppCo certification into Function’s telehealth platform.

SuppCo is not small potatoes. It has rated more than 35,000 supplement products and analyzed over 500,000 user routines. It also has receipts. A June 2025 report found that four of six Amazon bestselling creatine gummies contained little to no creatine per serving, with two containing none at all. A separate analysis showed five of 10 popular NAD+ supplements failed to meet label claims, with some containing almost no detectable NAD+.

Function has cash and ambition. The company raised an oversubscribed $298 million Series B at a $2.5 billion valuation last fall. It previously acquired AI imaging startup Ezra and added a $499 22-minute full-body MRI. It also bought Getlabs, which sends licensed phlebotomists to members for blood draws.

Why it matters. Supplements are a trust game. Function is stacking biomarker testing, MRIs, blood draws and now product ratings into one vertical health stack. If you can test the blood, scan the body and grade the pills, you control the narrative.

Quick take. Expect more brands to chase third-party validation. When four of six top sellers flunk, “clinically backed” stops being a tagline and starts being a liability.
