The $10M Bet on Beef Tallow Fries
5h ago · 9 sources · funding
French fries just got a funding round.
Jesse & Ben’s closed an oversubscribed $10M Series A led by Greycroft, with Rich Products Ventures and a roster of better-for-you investors joining in. The frozen brand, known for seed-oil-free fries cooked in avocado oil or beef tallow, says the cash will fuel retail expansion, supply chain investment and leadership hires. The company already launched at Whole Foods and Target nationwide.
The growth numbers jump off the page. Jesse & Ben’s launched in 2024, grew more than 1,100% last year and expects another 300% to 400% in 2026.
Timing is not random. Sales of seed-oil-free certified products have surged, according to SPINS. Walmart, Kroger and Sprouts now let buyers filter for certified brands on RangeMe. Seed oils have become a cultural flashpoint, even as some nutrition researchers push back on the health claims.
Why it matters: frozen is no longer the sad, processed corner of the store. It is a hotbed for better-for-you reinvention. When a simple bag of fries can pull $10M and triple digit growth, it signals real consumer pull. The fight is shifting from plant-based patties to pantry oils. In the freezer aisle, ingredient lists are the new battleground.
